Southeast Regional Fruit & Vegetable Conference COVID-19 Policies and Procedures
Registration
- The registration kiosk layout has been redesigned to allow for more spacing between attendees checking in, as this is one of the main places that experience the most congestion.
- Pre-registered attendees will be checked in and their information verified on an iPad by registration personnel to reduce touchpoints.
- Onsite registrations and payments will be entered into iPads by registration personnel to reduce touchpoints.
- Upon arrival when checking in or registering, there will be a COVID-19 waiver that all attendees must attest to. This would include responding to statements such as not testing positive for COVID-19 in the past 14 days, not knowingly being exposed in the past 5 days, and certifying that they are exhibiting no symptoms.
Education
- The educational rooms will be set with added space between rows as well as aisles on the sides of each room allowing attendees to stand separated if they choose.
- Pesticide CEU credits that have previously been a manual paper process will now be administered with handheld scanners to reduce touchpoints.
Food and Beverage Services
- Access to the pre-registered lunches will be verified by badges with handheld scanners rather than the previously used physical tickets.
- The food and beverage buffet service is being modified to be a cafeteria-style service with individual drink containers (bottled water/tea, canned soda) to reduce touchpoints for attendees.
- Ballroom seating capacity is being reduced by 30% to allow for more social distancing.
Other Precautions
- Face masks will be highly recommended and available throughout the convention center at registration, in education rooms and on the tradeshow floor.
- Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the convention center at various stations.
- The conference program and all other information will be available through a mobile app for those who do not wish to pick up a physical program.
