With Dr. David Lockwood, Extension Fruit and Nut Crops Specialist, University of Tennessee. Moderated by Dr. Patrick Connor, Horticulturalist, University of Georgia.

The popularity of muscadine wines in Tennessee wineries and the desire of wineries to secure locally-grown fruit is a strong incentive for growers. Previously, winter injury greatly restricted muscadine culture in Tennessee. Changes in weather patterns, increased attention to site selection and development, identification of varieties exhibiting superior cold hardiness and modification of selected cultural practices have allowed successful production of muscadines over much of the state.
